"TAKING BACK CHRISTMAS FOR JESUS" PROJECT
MISSION:
To lift up Jesus Christ as Saviour through carefully chosen, attractive Christmas decorations.
STRATEGY:
Take advantage of the diverse holiday season.
- On your avenue, mall, strip mall, or business park, display a sign that says "Merry Christmas" with your phone #, or church’s phone #, or Love Lines Counseling Center’s number.
- When possible, add a scripture or message or both. Ex: Love Lines Crisis Center owns an office that has 20,000 cars a day driving by. We did the following: Our lit-up display sign, we put these two messages, one on each side…."Jesus is Christmas, Ask Him to Save You" and "Jesus Christ - Savior, Ask Him to Save You". It was a brief message because of limited space and letters. We had no room for scripture. If we had, we would’ve used it.
- We put up a lit manger scene. On the building, we put up a "Merry Christmas" rope light with an additional lit angel sign. On the front of our building, we have a lit live Christmas tree with lit bushes.
- We put the angel and rope signs on all four sides of the building to draw people’s attention passing our building. We are adding outside speakers that will be playing Christmas music 24 hours a day in front & rear of our building.
We are doing this according to Habakkuk 2:2…."Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes by may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by". (Amplified Bible)
Being a part of bringing the Good News to all people according to Luke 2:10-11: "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people! For to you is born this day in the town of David a Savior, Who is Christ (the Messiah) the Lord!"
Other suggestions:
- Rent billboards
- Talk to other business owners around you to do the same thing.
With many businesses doing this together in the same area, due to the repetition of the message, a greater impact could be made in the community. - Download pictures and story from our web site
- Coordinate your efforts to become an annual event and tradition.
- We are asking that each community pick a simultaneous "light’s on"
time at sundown on Thanksgiving Day.
